A Review of Sulfate Radical-Based and Singlet Oxygen-Based Advanced Oxidation Technologies: Recent Advances and Prospects

In recent years, advanced oxidation process (AOPs) based on sulfate radical (SO4??) and singlet oxygen (1O2) has attracted a lot of attention because its characteristics rapid reaction, efficient treatment, safety stability, easy operation. SO4?? 1O2 mainly comes from the activation reaction peroxymonosulfate (PMS) or persulfate (PS), which represent reactions involving radicals non-radicals, respectively. The degradation effects target pollutants will be different due to type oxidant, system, methods, operating conditions, other factors. this paper, according PMS PS, methods mechanisms in these processes, respectively dominated by 1O2, are systematically introduced. research progress PS for organic years is reviewed, existing problems future directions pointed out. It expected provide ideas further practical application processes 1O2.
